About the Rideau Carleton Raceway

Rideau Carleton Raceway, located in Ottawa, has been operating since 1962. And from even earlier beginnings,
1886, Horse Racing has been Canada's oldest form of legal gaming. Today it has evolved and is flourishing in
Ontario as an exciting crowd-pleasing sports spectacle.
Canadians and tourists gravitate in Ottawa to experience Canada's Capital, the home of its democracy, site of
architectural and historical significance and a wealth of cultural traditions and activities.
As a result of this regional vitality and especially since slot machines were added to its completely renovated
facility in 2000, millions of visitors have been attracted to Rideau Carleton Raceway, representing marvelous
opportunities to promote the sport of Harness Horse Racing to a new clientele.
And, now that the new state of the art Bingo Hall has opened, supporting 28 charities, there is a a chance to share the excitement with even more people.
Rideau Carleton Raceway and the local racing industry are enjoying the business boosting business of hosting
these additional attractions while displaying a more talented field of horses, reflected in increased purses and daily attendance. We have redefined ourselves
as a state-of-the-art dual racing and gaming entertainment destination.
